Effective date: April 26, 2026
“Sage”, “Sage Total Health”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the publisher of the Sage Total Health iOS application (the “App”). For privacy questions, you can reach us at the email address listed in the Support page.
You enter information about yourself directly into the App so Sage can coach you. This may include:
All of this is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. We do not have a server-side copy.
If you grant permission, the App reads health metrics from Apple Health (such as steps, sleep, heart rate, active energy, body weight) and may write back manually-logged sleep entries you enter inside the App. HealthKit data is governed by Apple’s rules: it stays on your device, we never transmit it off-device, and you can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.
If you choose to use the DNA features, you upload a raw DNA file from a service like 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA, or Living DNA. This file is parsed entirely on your device. The raw genome — the file itself and the millions of SNP rows it contains — never leaves your phone and is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
The App matches your file against a curated library of about a dozen well-validated SNPs and stores only the resulting interpreted traits (e.g. “ACTN3 R577X — CT”) in your local profile.
With your permission, the App may use:
Captured images you save are stored on-device. We do not upload them.
When you chat with Sage, generate a workout, generate a meal plan, or ask Sage to interpret a DNA trait, the App sends the relevant prompt text to xAI, the company that operates the Grok large language model used by the App. xAI processes the request and returns a response.
What is sent:
xAI’s use of your data is governed by their own privacy policy at x.ai/legal/privacy-policy. We do not control how xAI handles its servers; please read their policy if you have concerns.
The App uses RevenueCat to keep track of whether you have an active free trial or paid subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device-level identifier and your purchase events from Apple — not your name, email, or health data. RevenueCat’s privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Your actual payment is handled by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your credit-card number, full name on file, or billing address.
The App contains no third-party analytics SDKs and no advertising SDKs.
We do not use your data to train models, build advertising profiles, or sell to anyone.
The App contains a clearly labeled, default-off “Share My Data for Research” toggle. If — and only if — you turn it on, you indicate consent to share anonymized health data with approved medical-research partners in the future. As of the effective date of this policy, no data has been shared with any research partner. If we ever activate this feature, we will (a) notify you in-app before any data is sent and (b) publish the recipients here. You can revoke consent at any time from Settings.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us via the Support page and we will delete it.
Data is stored in the App’s sandboxed container on your device, protected by iOS’s built-in encryption when your device is locked with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Network traffic between the App and xAI / RevenueCat / Apple is encrypted in transit using HTTPS / TLS. We use only standard, widely-deployed encryption; the App is exempt from U.S. export-control encryption registration.
If we change this policy materially, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and surface a notice in the App. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
